Rui was born in Matosinhos, Portugal, 40 years ago. He was a professional athlete for several years. Rui won several titles, including the Portuguese National Championship, which he won several times. He also won a European title and was ranked 2nd on the world circuit. Rui was in two finals in the Pipe masters, the most important race of the world circuit.

He has travelled extensively, to Indonesia, Ireland, France, Hawaii, Canarias, Reuniao Island, Australia and Brazil.

Rui Ferreira has a reputation for being always happy and joyful with himself and the world, and a very respectful person.

He loves to share his experiences and enjoys travelling.

Rui is a Certified Level 1 Trainer by the Portuguese Surfing Federation since 2004. 

His hobbies are Surfing [of course!], Walking and Photography.
